SCREEN RESOLUTION:

To accomodate our viewers with older systems and those who are elderly or have visual handicaps, the Spay, Inc. web pages have been optimized for easy viewing at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, so those viewing at any resolution can view everything on any page of our website without needing to scroll from side to side, as is sometimes the case with many websites optimized for higher screen resolutions.

Those viewing at higher resolutions will still be able to see everything fine, except that some pages with "tables" may show a bit of blank space to the sides of your screen, and the text and images on your screen may appear a little smaller.

If you are viewing at a higher resolution and would like the images on your screen to appear larger, you might want to adjust your computer's accessibility settings.

With most Windows applications, these adjustments can be made from your system's "Control Panel" or by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "properties" and then "settings." If you're not sure how to make the adjustments, check your operating system's help file.

COLOR SETTINGS:

While our pages are easily viewable at most color settings, we suggest that the color settings of your monitor's display be adjusted to display 16-bit color (minimum) or 24-bit color (preferred) for best viewing of graphic images.

With most Windows applications, this adjustment can be made from your system's "Control Panel." If you're not sure how to make this adjustment, check your operating system's help file.

Estate Planning:

A bequest to SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA through your Will or Trust helps ensure that we can continue to carry out our mission of helping homeless and abused animals receive the care they need.

By remembering SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA in your estate planning, you can leave a legacy that will benefit future generations of animals and help provide for our future work. The federal government encourages these gifts or bequests, by allowing an unlimited estate tax charitable deduction.

There are various methods for making such a bequest.

A specific bequest allows you to leave a specified gift in the form of a cash distribution. To make such a bequest use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA, P.O. Box 100220, Arlington, VA 22210-3220 the sum of (insert amount) to be used for its general purposes.”

A residuary bequest allows you to leave a “remainder” of a percentage of your estate to  SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA. To make a residuary use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA, P.O. Box 100220, Arlington, VA 22210-3220 all (insert percentage amount) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, to be used for its general purposes.”

A contingency bequest allows you to make a gift contingent on certain circumstances. To make a contingency bequest use the following language: “If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby bequeath his or her share to SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA, P.O. Box 100220, Arlington, VA 22210-3220 to be used for its general purposes.”

If you already have a Will, you can use the suggested wording to write a codicil (an addendum) that names SPAY, INC./SPCA-NoVA a beneficiary of your estate.
