As we celebrate our thirty-sixth year of endeavoring to reduce the number of uncared-for animals, we are gratified to report that during 2003 we helped over 4,000 pet owners wishing to spay or neuter their pets.

And the demand continues to grow. By the end of August 2004, our caseload had already exceeded last year's total. During the first three calendar quarters of 2004 (January through September) we helped almost 5,000 pets ... and the year's not over yet!

Additionally, we provide direct support to those pet owners whose circumstances preclude their paying even this modest fee.

Sadly though, our heartfelt efforts represent only a dent in the population of nearly eight million animals who have to be euthanized yearly because shelters can't find homes for them.

As we struggle to decrease this sad statistic, responding to every request and educating the public on responsible pet ownership, we continue to rely on your continued support to maintain our program.

As many of you know, SPAY no longer operates a thrift shop, and we receive NO public funding. So our good works must rely on the sympathetic hearts of its volunteers, and on the ongoing financial support of you, our supporters. Donations of any size are appreciated, and your name will not be sold to other organizations.

Further, as our overhead constitutes less than twenty percent of our expenses, virtually all donation money goes directly toward our goal of spaying and neutering.

Each of us at SPAY thanks you for working with us to lessen the number of animals left to die in overcrowded shelters, or abandoned to roam for themselves, frightened and starving, in remote areas.
